Dozens of shops, boutiques, salons and restaurants surround St.
Armands Circle. St. Armands Circle is at the intersection of North
and South Boulevard of the Presidents and John Ringling Boulevard.
More than 130 stores make up the shopping destination that has been
compared to Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.
John Ringling bought the
property that makes up the Circle in 1917 and planned homes and a
circular shopping center. Today, St. Armands is some of the most
desirable real estate in Sarasota with homes on the island selling
for well over a million dollars.
Fortunately you don't need to be a millionaire to enjoy the shops
and dining. On most evenings the sidewalk cafes,
restaurants and ice cream parlors are bustling with tourists and
residents alike who have discovered the quiet charm of St. Armands
and Lido Key. For many of the nearby hotels, St. Armands serves as
the night time entertainment center for hotel guests who have spent
the day on the beach. Several of the nearby
accommodations are just a short stroll away making Lido Key and
St. Armands a very popular vacation destination.
